Participation in the international packaging exhibition FACHPACK in Nuremberg, Germany

Together with our friends and associates from Printopack S.A. we participated in the international packaging exhibition FACHPACK in Germany. We presented our latest eco-friendly product, the single-face box, to the international market. Our presentation attracted a high level of response and interest. We discussed a lot on the future of food packaging within the EU market and we have confirmed that we are on the right track.

With the adoption of the draft law of the Ministry of Environment “Incorporation of the Directive 2019/904/EU on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment” http://www.opengov.gr/minenv/?p=11148

all classic grill house boxes made of paperboard + metallised PET and the take away boxes made of paperboard + PE or PP will fall into the category of single-use plastics. Thus, they will be subject to a 0.04€/unit fee which will be borne by the end consumer.

This 0.04€ fee will most certainly provide an incentive to the market for more eco-friendly products and will consolidate a much-needed eco culture.

Within this new framework, our company is ready and can offer you a set of reliable and eco-friendly solutions.

It is with great pleasure and pride that PMS AKADIMOS announces the placing on the market of the unique plastic-free food packaging for use by grill houses. This new and innovative product with the trade name POLYKRAFT NATURAL is available in all dimensions. It is the outcome of long-term planning based on our know-how and efforts to achieve constant evolution. It will meet the needs of the current fast-food market that is obliged to comply with the latest environmental legislation on the reduction of the impact of plastic products on the environment.

In the words of Mr. Petros Kavalakis, our company’s CEO: “POLYKRAFT NATURAL is our latest innovation. It is the first waterproof plastic-free box for grill houses in Greece. Following this year’s investments the entire production takes place in our premises located in the Industrial Zone of Oinofyta. It is widely known these days that the classic grill house boxes made of paperboard + metallised PET are outdated in terms of appearance and create a vast problem recycling-wise due to the difficulty in the separation of materials. The new POLYKRAFT NATURAL waterproof paper disposable packaging is biodegradable, compostable and recyclable within the existing recycling stream. The single-face box is the latest solution for crispy take away fries .

We are placing on the market the new box for fries with the trade name “single-face box” based on our philosophy and expertise on producing an eco-friendly packaging suitable for food.
The single-face box provides a solution to a long-standing problem that all catering establishments are facing: the poor quality of take away fries. During transport, fries become soggy because they absorb all the vapour within the closed packaging. The single-face box absorbs large part of the vapour and keeps the content crispy.

The product is an invention and a patent with EU Design Registration No 002725929-0001 and GR Patent No 1008953 by the Hellenic Industrial Property Organisation.

In the words of Mr. Kaloudis Kostas, our company’s Sales Manager: “The single-face box is ideal for those companies that want their client to have an optimum experience in terms of taste.
